Using Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Hierarchical Path Analysis this study supports a model based on procedural and distributive faimes notions. The model cosolidates and organizes measures used in previous research around the two components of merit pay systems: performance appraisal and the allocation of merit raises based on performance ratings.
