Proposing the used of Soft Systems Methodology in

soft systems methodology (SSM) is known as asignificant non-traditional formal problem solving methodology which has made an impact upon management science practice (Ledington and Donaldson, 1995). The use of SSM in Indonesia is proposed in this paper in the hope that the methodology's success in western-based contexts, such as UK and Australia, could be carried over with its use in Indonesia. The writer feels that the use of SSM within the context would facilitate better exchange of information between decision makers-ultimately leading to better decisions. The paper further discusses a number of perceived consequential issues relevant to the introduction of SSM into Indonesian organisations.
