The tourism sector, the saviour of foreign exchange receipts, will be faced with dillema in the future. On one hand, this sectors promises to raise vast amount of foreign exchanges which can be used as a mainstay of economic growth. On the contrary, since the standard of tourism is determined on an international level, no moves has been made towards developing local tourism. It is quite feasible that this situation could lead to social disintegration, cultural degradation, and ecological deterioration. The fundamental, pressing concern is not simply one of choosing between these two alternatives, but rather of formulating strategies for the development of national tourism.
