Before thr demolition of the WTC by terrorists in Sept 2001, the goverment and observers were optimistic in predicting that the Indonesian economy would expand by more than 4%-4,5% in 2002, but after the tragedy pessimism prevailed in various countries including Indonesia. The growth prediction was then slashed to only 3,5% for 2002.
