<note>This book lays out in a cogent and clear manner how to turn strategy into strategy execution by focusing on elements of workforce success that can be tracked and monitored. The authors dissect HR's success into four categories:
- "Workforce success". These are defined as HR’s deliverables, culture mind-set, competencies, and behaviors that drive operational, customer, and financial strategies, the unique identity of the organization.
- "Workforce mind-set and culture". Organizations create norms and expectations that the workforce needs to understand. The culture shapes behavior, and the behavior shapes the culture. Culture can be also measured and assessed in terms of its impact on the firm’s strategic success
- "Worksforce competencies". Competencies, what each employee is able to do, represent the knowledge, skill, and abilityof employees. Competenciesfor each employee can be also measured and monitored.
-"Workforce behaviors. Leaders and employees must behave in ways consistent with the strategy for it to be execuited. These behaviors can be difinedand measured to ensure that leaders and employees do what strategy suggest needs to be done. (Dave Ulrich)
