Penetapan lot size optimal untuk material requirem

Statementof the Problem:

Nowadays competitions in an industry
are becoming more intense.  This situation
makes a price war becoming
more difficult to be implemented.
If  companies want to increase their profits per unit of sales, they have to reduce cost of goods sold of their
products.  Because  raw   materials  are  sometimes
 high
 in
 costs,
 controlling
 and
monitoring their demand for a period is necesary to make sure they are spending the orderingcost and carrying cost efficiently
.

Method Used :

Methods used in this final paper
are comparison of lot-for
-lot,  least unit cost,
least total cost,  part period balancing,
and period order quantity to find the optimal lot size
for material requirements planning.

Summary of Findings, Conclusion, and Recommendations :

Lot sizing methods that are used in making material requirements planning for cassava, palm oil,  and package
is lot-for-lot using PT Boga Makmur Gracia (BMG)
policies. All other methods cannot be implemented
, even some of them will give lower
costs,because there are barrier
in minimum order from supplier and maximum
storage capacityfor palm oil in BMG.

Although there are no  savings in result,
the  3  months material requirements
planningwill still give BMG a picture of the next 3  months demand of cassava,
palm oil,  and package.
This material requirements planning will help BMG to monitor how many
units they need
,  when they should order,  and when they can expect the order to amve.
