Therefore, a long-term business plan is required for the national shipyards to create sustainable competitive advantages, both shipbuilding and shiprepair businesses. This paper presents a strategic ship repair business analysis by using Shipyard Business matrix that resulted from the shipyard’s internal and external strategic factors analysis. The result shows that, the national shipyards are less competitive compared to their potential competitors in the region. This is particularly due to lack of intangible resources and availability of local competitive supporting industries.
