PRODUKTIFITAS PENELITIAN PADA UNIVERSITAS-UNIVERSI



The purpose of
this research was to examine the influence of individual attributes (age, gender,
academic rank and job tenure); personal motivation factors that drive academic
research activities covering either extrinsic factors (investment) or intrinsic
(consumption); the university attributes (organizational support, college
status, accreditations) toward research productivity of lecturers in Indonesia.
Data were collected through questionnaires to 242 lecturers from public and
private universities in Indonesia, especially in Java islands. Online
questionnaires and printed questionnaires were distributed through direct and
mail survey to the respondents. Four of the nine hypotheses were tested using
ANOVA, while five other hypothesis using simple regression analysis. Of the
nine hypotheses proposed, only five hypotheses were supported. The results of
this research showed that: a) Age was negatively and significantly influence
research productivity; b) Academic rank influenced research productivity; c)
Investment factors influenced research productivity; d) Consumption factors
influenced research productivity; and the last e) Accreditation influenced
research productivity. Various implications of the findings in this research
have been discussed and suggestions for future research have been declared.
