When tragedy strikes the supply chain

A case study is presented exploring the aftermath of a fatal garment
factory accident in Bangladesh. In the study, the Chief Executive
Officer (CEO) of a firm that uses this factory to produce its garments
must decide whether to keep the production of the next season's clothing
in Bangladesh or consider relocating production to China, where her
firm already has a number of suppliers. A full narrative description of
the scenario is given along with commentary by two experts focusing on
the ethical and social responsibly aspects of the decision that must be
made. INSET: Case Study Teaching Notes.
