Agribusiness  in Indonesia,
especially  food related cultivation,  is very important, but it
contributes lact of value added for the farmers.  The value added of
agribusiness can be boosted by developing human resources and
transforming mental and attitude of farmers to entepreneurs in the
agribusiness field  or agropreneurs. Agropreneurship program should
begin from character building of farmers, young people, and fresh
graduates. Than, the program should be followed by technical and
managerial improvement.  After their mental and attitude are
successfully transformed as well as their technical and managerial
skills are improved, they can  create a new system and innovate new
process of production in agribusiness from cultivation to related
industries. A new agribusiness system should be implemented from
cultivation to organization, from production to processing. Innovation
include technology, process, and management will increase production.
 The increase of production will reduce import and boost value added.
 In this paper, strategic management model is adopted. By using this
model the program and process of the agropreneurial building can be
easily formulated, implemented, and evaluated. In the formulation stage,
the best alternative is choosen, in this case mental transformation.
After this strategy is choosen, many programs are implemented by
considering the resources reserve. For example, Indonesia has huge of
land resource to develop agribusiness. The  land ratio for farm of
Indonesia is only 10%, Thailand 63%, and Vietnam 23%. Indonesia can
easily extend the ratio if agropreneurial building program are
successfully implemented. This will boost new investment in agribusiness
field, especially in outside of Java Island. As a result, the
production will increase and the import of agricultural products will
decrease significantly.
