Ethical shoppers don’t inspire us—they bug us

An interview is provided with the professor Rebecca Walker Reczek. When
asked about public opinion towards those who are referred to as ethical
shoppers, she comments on negative attitudes towards them. She discusses
the role that social comparison theory plays in social attitudes
towards ethical shopping. When asked about why ethical shopping does not
inspire other people to act ethically, she mentions what is referred to
as moral elevation.
