<note>This book concern two intertemporal choice questions. First, how do individuals value singel riskless future outcomes? Do they discount gains and losses symmetrically, and if not, in which direction does the asymentry go? Second, how do individual value sequences of riskless future outcomes? Do they prefer sequences of increasing or decreasing outcomes? Models that answered these questions have been proposed, in this dissertation the predictions of three models on single and sequence valuations will be compared empirically.</note>
