This book is about the context of the HABINET seminar held in Jakarta in December 1990 has stimulated for the first time the formulation of a number of english language papers on te IUIDP which form the core of this publication. The Seminar was used in particular to introduce the integrated urban infrastructure development programmed (IUIDP) to this international audience. Tough many international and national consultants are involved in the IUIDP which is supported by several international agencies and bilateral agencies; there have been no major relevant publications on te experiences and the outlook of the IUIDP so far in English. The book divided in 13 chapters not includes the glossary and the authors, from the IDUIP, origin and concept, decentralization, financing, Implementation, to integrated urban development. Is is hoped from the writers that this publication can stimulate further reviews and discussion of this complex programmed which is expected to have a significant impact on the provision of basic urban services to IndonesiaÂ’s urban population.
